Keynoter for the concluding Open and Affirming Banquet on Friday, June 28, is the Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, pastor of Trinity UCC in Chicago and a prophetic voice for justice and inclusion. Keynoter for National Gathering is the renowned author, the Rev. Dr. Marvin Ellison. Preachers are the Rev. Janice Steele and the Rev. Linda Jaramillo. Help us promote National Gathering: download this PDF flyer Support the National Gathering Scholarship Fund!Last year's National Gathering was the most diverse ever--in age, race and ethnic identity. That happened because people like you supported the National Gathering Scholarship Fund. Will you and your congregation help us this year? Your tax-deductible gift will be an investment in the future of our movement: The participants you help us support financially will return to their churches will renewed energy and a renewed vision for justice and inclusion in our church--and beyond. You can contribute online via the National Gathering registration form. If you're planning to attend, an option for giving is part of the registration process. If you're unable to attend, there's a separate option to give only to the scholarship fund. Will you also help us build up this fund by asking your congregation to contribute? A gift of $750 will help two people attend National Gathering; $1,500 will cover registration costs for four people. For more information, contact us at office (at) ucccoalition (dot) org. Rainbow Scarf Project for General Synod 2013 is launchedLet’s turn General Synod next summer in Long Beach into a landscape of rainbow colors! Our goal is to give a free scarf to all 3,000 delegates and visitors in return for a commitment to act against bullying in the 5,000 communities where the UCC is a presence. Special thanks to The Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, and The E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation for providing funds to expand our work. |
