Board of Directors

Job Description and Covenant

In this time of the Coalition’s change and growth, the current Coalition Board of Directors commits to working with Coalition members, our ecumenical partners, and our secular counterparts toward our common goals of justice, education, and support. We ask new and returning board members to bring their faith and spirituality to this work, as the board moves into the future of being a directing, decision-making body for the wider coalition.

To that end, we will actively participate in the development plan of the Coalition in a personally significant way via:

  • monthly conference calls
  • face to face meetings
    • in Cleveland, in fall and in spring - Thursday morning (early) to Saturday mid-afternoonon site
    • at National Gathering in June
  • between meetings, using gifts actively in the work of the council by:
  • participating in subcommittees or serving as liaisons to other groups
  • developing a time/talent/treasure covenant, including
    • personal gifts as able to contribute
    • in kind contributions to Coalition/Board
    • facilitating contacts with others who can be participants in the development plan

We will become leadership developers and encouragers – better learning how to identify and invite people’s interests and abilities. We will practice asking people to help us in this good work.

The Board will provide opportunities for orientation and training to prepare and support board members.  We will listen for the Holy Spirit moving as we hold each other accountable to the foregoing expectations, understanding ourselves to be accountable to each other, to God, the wider church, and the membership of the coalition.
