The California Supreme Court's decision to uphold Proposition 8 is a tremendous disappointment to all who support marriage equality, and to all who long for laws that are fair to all people. We stand with all of our brothers and sisters in California who support equality for same sex couples. Even in our disappointment, there are many things about which we can be proud and hopeful. We are encouraged by the outpouring of both outrage and support around the country, since the vote in November 2008. Meanwhile, we take hope in numerous accomplishments in other states since that time. Moving forward together, we commit ourselves to this continue work in California and elsewhere.
